The Naomi Project
The Naomi Project’s mission is to change the lives of families going through domestic abuse after making the choice not to return to their abuser. They provide the basic needs (food, shelter and clothing) and other necessities to help the client become a fully independent, contributing member of our community.
The goal of The Naomi Project is to provide victims of domestic violence and their children with the skills necessary to reside in an environment free from violence. It is designed for clients who can benefit from long-term transitional housing coupled with educational, financial, emotional, mental and spiritual support. Clients are given tools or referrals to other agencies that can ease their struggle for independence, such as basic needs, transportation, training, education, spirituality and some extracurricular activities.
The program is offered at minimal cost to qualified clients who have demonstrated the initiative to escape the cycle of violence. Emphasis is placed on curing families, which will enable the clients to become self-reliant, self-actualized and self-sufficient. Clients may remain at The Naomi Project for up to 12 months, while receiving services geared toward assisting them in attaining self-sufficiency.
