To support you in your efforts to improve cultural and linguistic proficiency in healthcare, Select Health of South Carolina offers interpretation services at no cost to you or our members. LSA’s INTERPRETALK® program provides a fast and easy way to communicate with our Limited English Proficiency (LEP) members. They have interpreters in over 200 languages that are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Please call our Member Services Department at the numbers listed below to access this free service. After hours, please contact the 24-hour Nurse Help Line to be connected to an interpreter. Be prepared to provide the member’s name, Medicaid or First Choice ID number and preferred language. As always, please explain the objective of the call to the interpreter. Then proceed by speaking to the LEP member in the first person. For more information on interpretation services, please contact Jill Lemay.
