Breathe Easy is an outreach program for members with asthma. Asthma affects an estimated 190,000 adults and 91,000 children in South Carolina at an estimated cost of 154 million dollars. These total costs consist of 88 million dollars in direct costs and $66 million in indirect costs.* With a focus on quality care for all members, First Choice developed an asthma outreach program to provide education and support for all members with asthma.
