Honor marks second time Select Health has received recognition from magazine

June 10, 2008
North Charleston, SC

Select Health of South Carolina was recently selected as the recipient of the IMARA 2008 Corporate Award. Presented by IMARA Woman, the award is presented annually to a corporate entity that shares the magazine’s mission of service and empowerment in minority communities.

"Select Health’s corporate citizenship and outreach to enhance the qualify of life of South Carolinians in underserved communities has earned them this award," said Wendy Brawley, publisher and chief executive officer of IMARA Woman.

Such outreach includes Select Health's commitment to empowering women with healthy lifestyle choices. This commitment has resulted in the partnership with IMARA Woman to present the Healthy Ministry Empowerment Tour. Started in 2003, this collaboration has resulted in outreach to more than 1,000 women each year. The event – which incorporates a focus on the mind, body, and spirit – now concentrates on serving women in rural communities throughout the state.
