Parent University is a national initiative designed to educate and empower parents through a variety of free workshops and classes. The program focuses on providing parents with the tools needed to ensure their children excel both academically and socially. “Part of Select Health’s mission is to help build healthy communities and while physical health is essential, educational programs help strengthen and sustain the overall health of a community,” said J. Michael Jernigan, president and chief executive officer of Select Health. “Parent University provides an excellent opportunity for parents to enhance their knowledge and ensure active involvement in the lives of their children. We are excited to be part of such a positive program.” Select Health’s sponsorship helped provide tote bags for parents as well as books for parents and their children. The Charleston County School District (CCSD) provides Parent University courses to any families who have or will have children in Charleston County Public Schools. All courses and workshops are provided through collaboration with community agencies and partners. About Select Health |
