Select Health of South Carolina named one of South Carolina's Best Places to Work

Company is one of 25 finalists competing for top honor

Select Health of South Carolina, the state’s largest and most experienced Medicaid managed care provider, today announced it has been named as one of the Top 25 finalists in South Carolina’s Best Places to Work competition.  Best Places to Work S.C. identifies and recognizes South Carolina’s best employers and is open to all South Carolina organizations with at least 15 employees working in South Carolina.  This year marks the third consecutive year Select Health has received this award.

“We are truly honored to be distinguished as a finalist in the Best Places to Work S.C contest,” said J. Michael Jernigan, president and chief executive officer of Select Health.  “Employee satisfaction is a top priority at Select Health.  Best Places to Work S.C. is another benchmark we use to determine employee satisfaction and identify areas and programs we can improve.”

In 2008 and 2009, Select Health competed in the small/medium-sized companies’ category, which includes employers with 15-240 employees.  As a result of recent growth, Select Health now employees more than 250, bumping it into the large companies group reserved for companies employing 250 or more.  Select Health is one of two Charleston-area finalists in the large companies division. 

Top winners and official rankings will be announced at an awards dinner on October 5 in Columbia.
