Observation services policy update (PDF)
Effective February 17, 2017, Select Health of South Carolina will no longer require authorization or notification for observation services up to 48 hours (2 days) for non-maternity related diagnoses.

Reduced patient screening time using the Member Clinical Summary Report
The Member Clinical Summary (MCS) is a snapshot of a patient's relevant clinical data and demographic information all displayed in a single user-friendly report.
Availability of appointments (PDF)
First Choice by Select Health monitors availability of appointments within our network based on the following standards set by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for services provided by all participating behavioral health providers.
Observation billing update (PDF)
Effective July 8, 2016, Select Health will require revenue codes 762 and 769 to be submitted with additional information.
Rehabilitative behavioral health services
Effective July 1, 2016, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) will include outpatient mental health services and rehabilitative behavioral health services (RBHS) as part of the managed care benefit.
