The 2010 Healthy Hoops Challenges were a slam dunk! With four successful events in the Upstate, Lowcountry, Pee Dee and Midlands regions, the program provided over 200 free health screenings, facilitated by the SCAA. More than 292 children received basketball drills and instructions from the pros, and nearly 800 parents, Hoopsters, Select Health staff and community volunteers attended these one-day basketball camps. A concern for asthma education and management are common threads that connect the Healthy Hoops Family across counties. Healthy Hoops exemplifies a shared commitment to asthma advocacy.
